What are Acrylic Nails?

Acrylic nails are called many different names, with the nail technician's least favorite being "fake nails". We much prefer the term artificial nails. There are several different types of artificial nail enhancement products as well as application procedures. The most commonly applied enhancement is traditional acrylic, which is a two-part system of liquid (monomer) and powder (polymer). This type of product can be applied with one color of acrylic, pink and white acrylic for a Permanent French look, or can be applied with colored acrylic, glitter acrylic or in any combination.

Acrylic nails are a little more prone to lifting because the nail tip is glued to the nail tip instead of bonding like gel nails. Because of this lifting, there is a slightly greater chance that fungus can appear under the acrylic nails. This is only an issue if you see lifting and don't get it repaired.

How much do Acrylic Nails cost?

Most girls think that acrylic nails are cheaper than gel nails or silk nails. This is only because of the over populated "Wal-Mart" style nail salons that push you through their chairs like cattle. My prices are the same whether I'm doing acrylic nails or gel nails. I give you the same attention, they take the same amount of time, and you get a quality product that you will love either way.
